Discipline Policy

Please ensure that you have read this section. You can get a copy of the school discipline policy and rules from the office. These are available for both students and parents to access. This is normally provided at the beginning of each year, which states the school rules.

ATTENDANCE

We consider regular and punctual attendance as essential for effective learning, if students want to make the most of the educational opportunities available to them. Parents, guardians and teachers have a duty to ensure maximum attendance at school. The members of staff identify patterns of irregular attendance at the earliest opportunity and work to resolve any personal or social difficulties.

STUDENT SAFETY

This is one of our primary concerns. We ensure that children are safe and secure during the school hours. We have high technology surveillance through closed circuit cameras to ensure that no bullying, ragging or intimidation occurs on our premises.

RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR PLAN

Our school has specific punishments for different levels of behavior; however, individual circumstances will be taken into account. These are known as ‘Responsible Behavior Regulations’. The management has the right to suspend or exclude a learner on the grounds of misconduct, disobedience, involvement in drugs or violence. In case, a learner is a first time offender, he/she will be counseled by the school counselor. Our intention is to create an outward looking and a progressive ethos at our institution.

CODE OF CONDUCT - AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING PROCESS

Codes of conduct have been the foundation of religious traditions and civic cultures. They have tried to capture a vision of excellence – of what us as individuals and as a society should endeavor towards. As families and societies, our school too has a code of conduct that is the basis of how we operate, and we ask our students, teachers, and administrators to commit to this standard. We consider good behavior and discipline the cornerstones of an enriching education. Effective learning and even teaching is not possible without an orderly atmosphere, which is why we insist on high standards of behavior throughout our school.

A POSITIVE AND COOPERATIVE ENVIRONMENT

The safety and security of your child is our highest priority, and our code of conduct establishes rules and policies so that the entire school can come together as a community to learn, teach and work in harmony and mutual respect. Families of our students are a critical extension of our school community, which is why we ask you to please familiarize yourself with our code of conduct and discuss expected behavior with your children. Good behavior and respect for the rules is always praised and even rewarded in our school.

BEHAVIORAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

We understand that no one document can list the appropriate behavior for every situation, which is why our code of conduct is intended as a guideline for students, teachers and administrative staff.

-
Students must, at all times, carry themselves with respect and act sensibly. They must treat their peers, teachers, staff and visitors with courtesy and consideration.
-
Disciplined behavior is also expected on school buses, on excursions, school meets, athletic events and any other school outing. Any improper behavior should be reported to teachers or chaperones.
-
On par with our standards for student behavior is our standard for their appearance. Students are expected to be well groomed and adhere to the dress code required by their schedule.
-
We expect our entire school community to make every effort to attend all days of class. Students will have to submit a written notice from a parent or guardian to explain any unexcused absenteeism.
-
Our school does not tolerate rude, offensive language, profanity and obscene gestures under any circumstance, even if students are angry. Verbal abuse generally leads to violence; therefore, it is treated as a serious offense.
-
Smoking, drinking alcohol, bullying, sexual impropriety, stealing and vandalism are considered major offenses in our school. As a last resort, the Headmaster reserves the right to expel students if they demonstrate a constant disregard for our code of conduct.
